Chechen Patriotic Song (The Land of Prophet Noah’s Grandsons)

A fire blazes up in our hearts,
We have lost to happiness,
May the almighty God bless you,
My Muslim Chechnya!

As a cheerless child,
So don’t look at me,
For you're a shining star,
I would sacrifice myself for you, my Chechnya!

There is no God except God,
May the almighty God bless you,
There is no God except God,
My Muslim Chechnya!

Breaking you will not make you kneel down,
We will not let them break your honour,
It is impossible to gain a golden sun,
My Muslim Chechnya!

Stop a bullet to his soul,
Sends compliments for you,
I would die in your sons stead,
I would sacrifice myself for you, my Chechnya!

There is no God except God,
May the almighty God bless you,
There is no God except God,
My Muslim Chechnya!

When it see to hawk which is dancing tricky,
Sorrow and distress grow pale,
It is cheerfulness for our homeland,
Smile my Chechnya!

A fire blazes up in our hearts,
We have lost to happiness,
May the almighty God bless you,
My Muslim Chechnya!

There is no God except God,
May the almighty God bless you,
There is no God except God,
My Muslim Chechnya!

Happy Woman

When they hear my footsteps
They open the door for me
And offer me a hand like to a woman
While I am waiting there for you
They send me a rose
And the crystal is foaming

No, this is not a dream
Uu, look I am a happy woman
Everything I want
Everything is here right now

And when they
Send me off in midnight
And call a taxi for me
They ask me where are you

Hey happy, happy, I am a happy woman
I am loved and I am in love
Everything is working for me
Oh, where are you, you're not here

When I think that I can do everything
You say to me that I cannot
If I want to come I can't
And everything is collapsing
I am loosing the ground under my feet
You are everything I cannot.

No, no, this is not a dream
Uu, look I am a happy woman
Everything I want
Everything is here now
And I cannot do it
Why I can't do it?

When a
Present is waiting for me at home
Beside it is a message
That I should go and sleep and I shouldn't wait for you

Hey happy, happy, I am a happy woman
I am loved and I am in love
Everything is working for me
Oh, where are you, you're not here

When I think that I can do everything
You say to me that I cannot
If I want to come I can't
And everything is collapsing
I am loosing the ground under my feet
You are everything I cannot.

No, no, this is not a dream
Uu, look I am a happy woman
Everything I want
Everything is here now

And I cannot do it 6x

When I think that I can do everything
You say to me that I cannot
If I want to come I can't
And everything is collapsing
I am loosing the ground under my feet
You are everything I cannot.

No, no, this is not a dream
Uu, look I am a happy woman
Everything I want
Everything is here now
And I cannot do it...

State Anthem of Ingushetia

In the most beautiful part of the mountainous region
Thou liest, Ingushetia.
Proudly goes on the way to the future,
May you live forever, Ingushetia.
God, give the strength to Ingushetia,
God bless Ingushetia!

The land may asunder,
From the wounds inflicted by your enemies.
May the sons who died in battles be noble,
The survivors will avenge them.
God, give the strength to Ingushetia,
Give us the strength to avenge the fallen!

We're not looking for an easy life,
We want to live without black hatred.
Our land is cultivated,
Let's have the strength to do so.
God, give the strength to Ingushetia,
Give us the strength to cultivate the land!

Your thoughts about justice,
Your heart is burning,
It will start to burn from a spark like a fuel.
Be forever free, land of our fathers.
We ask that God.
God, give the strength to Ingushetia,
Let Ingushetia be free!

asking the natives2

Yes, well, Puebla was lost
but it wasn't for lack of valor,
it was for lack of supplies
for the Confederacy.

Myth

They say there are no myths in the world.
They say love is not real.

They say we should neither dream nor write poems.
They say we are all grown up.

Who knows there are fairy tales in the adult world?
However I met you, you!
I met you.

Is it like oriental Night?
Ah! or is it a fairy tale or a myth?
Is it a dream, a poem or a picture?

The ballad of Jacinto Treviño

With this one it's three times now
that something extraordinary has passed,
the first time in ,
then .

And in Baker's saloon
they started shooting,
and broken bottles
went flying everywhere.

Baker's saloon
at the moment is deserted;
only Jacinto Treviño was left
with his rifle and pistol.

Come on you cowardly rangers1,
this fight is not child's play,
you wanted to know your father?
I am Jacinto Treviño!

The Sheriff himself said
that although he was American:
-Oh!, that Jacinto is quite a man,
you can tell he's Mexican!-

Jacinto Treviño said
that he almost died from laughter,
'I made fools
of those men'.2

With this I say my farewell
here in the presence of all,
if you want to meet me
then I'll be waiting in Matamoros.

Memo

The kite that flew outside the window
the music box I was given on my birthday
the jacket that fell on the bus station
later had no meaning

The evening we were exchanging worries
the early morning I was woken up from a nightmare
the sky was pinkish-red from the clouds tinged with sunset hues
were all these forgotten by you or not?

What you forgotten
let me remind you
what you left behind
covered my journey
is there or not someone like me collecting all the things I loved?

What I should forget
I still remember them painfully
I'm wishing my ability to remember will become obtuse
could it be that I would be relatively happier
if I wasn't living reminiscently?
a life without you

The laughter echoing in the corridor
the song that made me cry after I've heard it
the fingers imprinted on the piano keys
time has cast its dust

The clock hand that forgot to rotate
the scar that forgot to heal and recover completely
the life that forgot to go forward
but remembers the moment that I loved you

What you forgotten
let me remind you
what you left behind
covered my journey
is there or not someone like me collecting all the things I loved?

What I should forget
I still remember them painfully
I'm wishing my ability to remember will become obtuse
could it be that I would be relatively happier
if I wasn't living reminiscently?
a life without you

One by one they are forgotten
is there something else I'm not willing to part with?
One by one they are forgotten
is there anything else from the two of us
that I'm the only one who remembers?

I Love You

Although it appears simple, although it's repetitive,
Because of you everything strangely changed.
(I) really want to become one with you, not just by holding hands, but also in the heart,a kind of binding that cannot be broken.
(Me) accompanying you, breathing the same air as you, is happiness.

I love you . I love you
Every day (I) want to love you. I am missing you in my dreams.
Even sober, the first thing that I think of is you.

I love you and I love you
Every day I must love you, there are few days (I can) regret.
accompanying you in the sunlight, (I) cannot think about (your) imperfections.

The Black Cat

They call me the 'Black Cat'
and I'm a wanted man,
they say I'm dangerous,
a heartless man and a criminal.

From a young age I've had vices,
I've come to know of all bad things,
I know all of the traffickers
and criminals of the region.

From the mountains there in Chihuahua
I traveled with white cargo,
and under the sheriffs' noses
I crossed goods over the border.

Cargos full of marijuana
I took to Chicago and New York,
and sometimes by sheer bad luck
I fell behind prison bars.

There in an , in an ambush;
I shot and killed the sheriffs,
I went though up north
and I called to mind death.

I passed the night in
and arrived in for who knows what,
patrol officers were told ahead of time
and I escaped from their grasp.

From the terrible prison1 of
from the
from in it's new prison
from the fifth floor I escaped.

The Black Cat doesn't say goodbye
he disappears from the region,
when they see me dressed all in black
and blank eyes, they know it's me.

The tragedy of going to watch Titanic

The other day I went to watch Titanic. I couldn't watch it. I went to the cinema and all that, but the people was very frenzied. That movie made an uproar, and I don't know, there were a lot of people at the cinema who were making noise, and couldn't stand the anxiety, and it's weird, because it's a movie that even if you didn't watch it, everybody knows how it ends, but anyway, there was an amazing uproar at the movies and I started to ask some people to not scream, and a woman said to me “shhh!” and another guy from behind yelled 'Stop, shut up!' and another answered 'Can I know why don't you shut up?'. And I said to them 'shhh!” and someone from some placed yelled at me 'silence!', and a woman said 'you ask for silence and you're screaming', and I said to the woman 'shhhhhhhhhhh' and another guy from the front said 'shut up, you sound like a chicken' and the one next to him told him to shut his mouth and another guy told him 'and why don't you preach with the example?'. And a woman with anxious voice asked 'could you shut up, please?', and the man next to her immediately said 'shhht!” and she asked 'shhht what' and he said 'shut up' and she asked 'I have to shut up? not you?' 'You two shut up' said another guy. 'Sorry: the three', said another who got in. And another said 'keep talking, anyway...'. 'You don't let me listen!', said another. 'You neither', replied a woman. 'The talking didn't reach the toilet for the shit to come out', said another woman. And the partner of the first woman came out to defend her and went to where the other woman was because he wanted to insult her, but then he recognized her and said 'Olga! What are you doing here!' and she said 'what are YOU doing here, you said that you had to do extra time at work, and who's that woman with you?!'. And another woman from another seat said 'finish this stupid soap opera! I came to watch the movie!'. 'Then, if you came to watch the movie, why don't you shut up', replied another voice. 'Finish it once and for all!', said another guy, and started to call out the usher. Another one said 'shut up, don't you see that with those calls you don't let us listen?' and the other said 'I'm calling the doorman to silence people like you'. 'If the doorman comes, I'll ask him to take you both out', said a woman. 'Chitón!' yelled another guy. 'Chitón?' asked another, 'you think you came to watch George of the Jungle?'. 'Stop, don't you see that if you keep going like that they'll suspend the play?!' yelled another woman. 'I paid my ticket', said a guy 'you can't suspend the play'. 'Give us back the money!', yelled nother guy. And a girl said 'they'll give back the money only to those who behaved. To the disturbants like you, they'll give you none'. 'And they'll fine you for talking', he replied. 'And they'll kick your ass out', said another voice over there. 'Come here to tell that', screamed the other. 'Why don't you go fight outside and leave us alone watching the movie?', protested another. 'Stay in your issues', they replied. And another said 'if you all shut up, we'd be enjoying an excellent show'. Another one answered 'if you refrained from saying that, you'd have done an important contribution to the silence of the cinema'. And another asked 'Why don't you see the rafter in your eye instead of the mote in the other's eye?'. 'Shut up, rafted!' they yelled at him. And the thing kept going through all the movie. When it ended, I went home frustrated but I turned on the TV and fortunately was beginning –and I could watch it fully– my favorite show: The Love Boat.

Bitter times

Oh, how pleasant it is to live
during these times of today.
We are the agraristas,
still some people don’t believe it.

It is no longer the time of Porfirio,
When before they would cry for the master,
That when they’d meet him, they’d shake his hand,
and button his pants.

If one day the steward
became angry with a laborer
it was because another was closer
to the snaps of his pants.

And the one that had pretty daughters
there they would give him a job as a night watchman
or he would get a very good job
at least as a payroll clerk.

The one that had a pretty wife
they didn’t leave him alone nor let him rest,
they would get them up very early
to work like the oxen.

I bid you farewell my friends
there they excuse my frankness,
bitter times of the Porfirista
that I sing to them here in my song.

I do not trust you

From now on i can not say you to stop
i can not say at all to stay , i can never interrupt in your way
i thought i learned to love from you ,however i was naive

Now there is no love for me you too say it
you made my heart empty
as if this betrayal gave every thing back to me
that you've taken from me

I do not trust you anymore understand it
i am not your toy
pity, i had put curtains on my eyes with you
i am not blind in love anymore

Year after Year

It is always hard to see you and bear to part.
All the flowers are dying if the wind from the east is light.
Silkworms go the end of their lifecycle after spinning their cocoons.
A candle's tears dry only when it is burned down to ashes.

Falling flowers are gone and the river keeps flowing.
There are two types of anxiety in the lovesickness.
Year after year, it is the never ending.
I wish you come to me in my dreams tonight.

I always miss you day after day, year after year.
Do you miss me as much as I miss you?

I always remember that year.
The moment first time I saw you.
Do you miss me as much as I miss you?

Fate brought us here and destiny brings us together.
However you just stay for a while.
It is light wind with loneliness.
The cold moon make me feel more lonely.

I always miss you day after day, year after year.
Do you miss me as much as I miss you?

I always remember that year.
The moment first time I saw you.
Do you miss me as much as I miss you?

I always miss you day after day, year after year.
Do you miss me as much as I miss you?

The moment first time I saw you.
Do you miss me as much as I miss you?

Immortal

Your mouth has the honey that with one kiss
would make my soul in love go mad.
That kiss has a song, a promise
that will endure eternally within my heart.

She wants, little button flower,
always alive in my being,
virgin made a woman.

She has, for me a heart
that was yesterday's dream
and is now a living fantasy.

She knows, to return your love,
with kisses from your mouth
you understand that I love you.

She has, the nectar of my life
and you give in every kiss an immortal love.

Pop corn

[Verse 1: VilleGalle]
I walk into club, what's the boogie, I always need a mug
The list said it's my turn, DJ stopped his nonsense
Dames are always watching for him who made it happen
For him who drinks Dom in a corner table
You know, they are those PME tricksters
They won't take Visa there, only cold hard cash
You know the noise will be sick
When dame dances on a table and Levi's are ripping
There's piano carriers, there's piano players
There's those who work hard, and there's those who win
What are they looking for, well for our recipe
What are they looking for, well for the same effect

[Bridge: VilleGalle]
When you order bowls with me, you gonna have to last for two days
When you order those bowls with me, you gonna have to last for two days

[Chorus: Jare]
So many tens in their pockets
Lip syncs only
Jaws bang like pop corn
Guetta plays in the club
Some substitute for music
Jaws bang like pop corn
You make it bang like pop corn
You make it bang like pop corn

[Verse 2: Jare]
Who harvested it all last night (who)
If I wake up late, I do my work late
It makes him think but he still doesn't get it
I don't envy him though I would be in sleet
I'm not here to save money, that's what I know
It doesn't mess me up even though it's somehow familiar
CEO puts his drinks on me
Bro, I brought you some drinks, not just beer
And I'm not coming back tomorrow
You need someone to translate my talk
We do it, we don't try
But this is not our first time in the spotlight

[Bridge: VilleGalle]
When you order bowls with me, you gonna have to last for two days
When you order those bowls with me, you gonna have to last for two days

you are waiting for the drop, this is cornish pop
This is cornish pop, for you like rock
you are waiting for the drop, this is cornish pop
This is cornish pop, for you like rock, you are waiting for the drop

Sing, sea

My sea of Mazatlan,
how far away I left you.
How sad she was,
the one who gave me her love.

You were a witness
to that passion of mine;
I remember that they sang,
I remember that they sang,
your waves, your song.

Stars that accompany
the most tranquil nights
with celestial rhythms,
the song of my sea.

Palm trees that welcome
the fragrant breezes,
swayed by the wind,
bring you along in rhythm.

Your lacy beaches,
with sparkling diamonds
of beings who sing here
your incomparable song.

Do not stop singing your sweet
melody to she who was mine
and will not forget me.

Your lacy beaches,
with sparkling diamonds
of beings who sing here
your incomparable song.

Do not stop singing your sweet
melody to she who was mine
and will not forget me.

The assassination of a boy

I'm going to tell you the sad story
of a dark crime as it happened
in Dallas Texas on the 24th
of the month of July, 1973.

A child lost his life
at the hand of a criminal,
at the hand of a policeman
whose job is to care for the lives of others.

Santos Rodríguez, this was the name
of the kid with miserable luck,
who didn't think that that morning
was his last one.

Officers arrested both
he and his brother in their home,
as suspects of robbing
a nearby business.

The poor boy was handcuffed
and a gun was placed at his head,
but not even with that did he look guilty
of having committed that robbery.

A shot rang out and the little body
of the poor boy fell dead,
and at the sight of what he did
in desperation the policeman cried out to God.

The policeman who smeared his
name in vain with blood was Darrell Cain,
the same one who in April 20th
killed Michele1 three years ago.

Santos Rodríguez is already in heaven
he's already been judged by the Lord,
and the policeman mourns his fate
for having used his weapon without precaution.

The Lady With the Stork

Versions: #2
When I'm getting near the end, when I haven't much longer to go
I'll set up a trap and catch a stork in it
I can already see myself feeding it sugar and cinnamon,
Slowly scooping up diamonds in a spoon
Feeding them to it with bread while darkness drips from the ceiling
I want to be an old lady who lives with a stork

At our wedding I will be standing there
With the stork beside me while everyone around
And the entire sky will lean
On my crutches

When it's all over I hope you'll understand
I want to be an old lady who lives with a stork
I can already see us both dressed in our feathers
With my stork eating his supper with the family silver
Then we drink liqueur and there is the scent of perfume everywhere
I want to be an old lady who lives with a stork.

Son of Slovenian nation

He lived in the mountains,
sung old songs,
enjoyed his life.
He drank a lot of wine.

As he first went into the world
he got a red flower
his mother gave him
with her gnarled hand to farewell

Father hasn't lost many words
he was used to curse the foreigners
He gave the boy for the memory
greens rosemary.

And said:
Where ever you will walk with him
Now that you are
only the Slovene nation is the son.
he's made his way all alone
he saw a lot of conspiracy
for him was difficult to overcome
he didn't know how to kill.

He used to cry so often
Waiting for a returning time
He has not only won
and that's why he lied

Day by day:
I do not care about pain
I live with them
as a Slovenian nation, son.

I do not care about pain
I live with them
as a Slovenian nation's son.

In the Interest of Our Society

Hate kills too many nerves
Hate drains your energy
Before us there lie shards
But before us lies so much

[Chorus:]
Is it in the interest
Of our society
That our best
Lie on the ground?
Is it in the interest
Of our nation
That everybody gets
Screwed up the rear?

In these minds lie hidden treasures
That are hard, hard, hard to grab ahold of
But if nobody is to open their hearts
Then we are gambling with our very future

[Chorus]

Europe streets nowadays wanna beat me down
Seems the government structure wanna keep me down
Look around, what's going on inna Babylon
What's happenin', tryna destroy me
Can't run, can't find a way to hide
It seems like it's a suicide
It looks like we just lost a fight
I wonder how we will survive
Television got us under hypnotics
With the youth like under narcotics
Wanna swap us for robotics
Pure water's become toxic
It seems this planet's lost it
It's more than rumors and gossip
Gotta run, gotta get through, yeah
You gotta run before they get you too

[Chorus]

If you expect something
Expect nothing
'Cause if we don't move somehting
Nothing will move
It would be doable
Now more than ever
Oh, it should be workable
Nobody dead and nobody hurt

[Chorus]

The smuggler of El Paso

On the 7th of August
we were so desperate
that they took us handcuffed
out of El Paso to Kansas.

They took us out of court
at eight o'clock in the evening,
they took us station
where they put us in a car.

The train is coming
the bell is already ringing,
I asked Mister Hill
if we are going to Louisiana.

Mister Hill with a snicker
replied: No sir,
we're passing Louisiana
straight to Leavenworth.

It's nice contrabanding
you make a lot of money,
but what's truly very sad
is the sorrows of a prisoner.

Oh! my little mother
I send you a sigh and a hug,
for here ends the ballad
of the smuggler of El Paso.

The ballad of the wetbags*

Because we're wetbags
the law is always after us,
because we're illegals
and we don't know English,
the stubbornly kicks us out
and we come back again.

Some come in through ,
through
through
and through Nogales2 too,
through
so many of us come in each month.

Our problem
can easily be resolved:
give us3 a little Gringa4
so we can emigrate
and when we get our papers5
we'll tell her to hit the road.

If there are no more wetbags
who will we depend on
to pick the tomatoes,
lettuce and beets?
the limes, grapes and grapefruit
will all go to waste.

And they will close down
all of the dance halls,
because if they kick out the wetbag
they'll all dance poorly,
and those on welfare
will have no one to console them.

Our problem
can easily be resolved:
give us a little Gringa
so we can emigrate
and when we get our papers
we'll tell her to hit the road.

Pinstripes and Missiles

A hole in my shoe
where the world leaks in
Yeah, life is hard
It's biting my skin

You and I,
we're getting by

If I fade out
like a star,
then you are there
to ignite me again

You and I
You and I

Pinstripes and missiles
keep the dreams in check
Empty words and bitter faces
We have to be on our guard

You steer and intervene
in our lives
You take our money
and steal our time

You and I
You and I

Pinstripes and missiles
keep the dreams in check
Empty words and bitter faces
We have to be on our guard

You and I
You and I
You and I
You and I
You and I
You and I

How to look at you?

Versions: #2
I can not get the words
to express my love for you.
I do not know how to explain it to you.
that you make me feel
as if it were summer
and there was no winter,
as if everything stops.
And with that smile that changes the life
You looked at here.
And I can not think anymore
that you are not the one who loves me.

And how to look at you
that eyes leaving me in January
When I know they aren't mine and I'm dying?
Fate does not want us to go on.

And how to I say to you
that i do not want this love to be temporary
suddenly one day is given and I am waiting for you?
we haven't to pay attention to fate.

I do not know how to be myself
If you are not by my side,
these months will be long
if you are not with me.
And with that smile that is never forgotten,
you arrived and I saw you.
And i can't stand you are not the one who loves me.

And how do you look at
that eyes leaving me in January
when I know they aren't mine and I'm dying
Fate does not want us to go on.

And how do I say
that I do not want this love to be temporary
suddenly one day is given and I wait for you
fate does not have to matter to us.

And how to forget you?
life taught me you are the first thing.
I do not mind about distance, I love you
And at the end I know that you will be by my side.

I am going to wait for you!
Time doesn't exist in truly love!
and I swear it is not the end of the tale.
Fate can not separate us.

How to look at you?

Engraved ring

Take this ring
that has my name engraved in it,
take it and place it
beside your heart.

And if at the passing years
you have forgotten me,
don't take it off, no;
the memory of our love.

And if one day I find you,
if I look at you and you look at me,
you'll hear as I pass between the shortened breaths
of my soul, longing to speak to you.

And if in your hand you wear
my engraved ring,
don't take it off, no;
the memory of our love.

And if one day I find you,
if I look at you and you look at me,
you'll hear as I pass between the shortened breaths
of my soul, longing to speak to you.

And if in your hand you wear
my engraved ring,
think woman; that I am
the man that adored you.

What would we do?

Life goes as fast train
and while you blink the road no longer exist
love goes by water, by air
and on the wall there is it´s picture

And luckily it´s here
it knows me by name
and I have it now

What would I do, what would you do
what would we do without love
what would be the world tomorrow
if I don´t kiss you

Give it to me, give it to me
give me a bite of happiness
a little of me, a little of you
life would be perfect

What would I do, what would you do
what would we do without love
what would be the world tomorrow
if I don´t kiss you

Give it to me, give it to me
give me a bite of happiness
a little of me, a little of you
life would be perfect
